Resources for Engaging Science Lessons
Funded Nov 13, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donation towards Teacher's Pay Teacher's gift cards. I've been able to use the funds to purchase well-rounded, engaging, and hands-on science lessons for my 6th and 7th grade science students. Recently, my 6th graders were able to learn about the structure of flowering plants, how flowers reproduce, and the life cycle of a flower with a lesson that included a grade-level reading passage, along with a cut-and-color activity to show their knowledge of flowers. They then planted their own seeds, learned about tropisms in plants, and are testing their seeds to see how they respond to the environment. All of these ideas and lessons were made possible with your donation. I really appreciate your support in my students' education!”

Making Science Cool With Heat
Funded Nov 11, 2022Thank you so much for funding materials to help "make science cool with heat"! My students were so excited to use both the hot packs and ice machine to learn about exothermic and endothermic reactions in 7th grade science. Students were able to engage with these materials by comparing the temperature of their hand before and after being exposed to one of the compress types. They learned that the hot pack made their hand feel hot because heat was being released from the pack and is therefore an exothermic example. In comparison, the ice was melting as heat from their hand was moving into the ice (making their hand feel cold), and is an endothermic example. We've also found some other great uses for the hot packs and ice machine in both 6th and 7th grade science, so we are really getting great use out of these products. Once again, thank you for your generous donations!”
