Deaf Education Curriculum Material
Funded Jun 14, 2023Thank you all so much for donating. So far your donation has helped me create and purchases materials and curriculum that has been beneficial for my students. I was able to purchase these materials on Teachers Pay Teachers to enhance learning. One project that I am doing is creating a Biome Tourist Guide. I have had all student fill in the pamphlet and present on their research about a Biome of their choice. This helped my students have hand on experience researching, presenting and learning about the various Biomes. Our next lesson will be an actual experiment which I am so excited to implement and that coincides with the Biome Tourist Guide.
In addition, I was able to purchase and differentiate lessons that will help with College Essay Writing. My students have already learned the importance of writing a great College Essay and look forward to more practice. I am so excited to teach them more of what I was able to purchase, thanks to all your donations. My goal is to ensure that each one of my juniors and seniors will have a well written College Essay and get accepted into the college of their choice.
There are other curriculums and projects I was able to purchase and wish I can list them all but please know I am truly grateful for all of your support. My students thank you!!”

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Supporter and 5 other donors.Deaf and Hard of Hearing Classroom Supplies
Funded Oct 4, 2022Wow! Again, I am so filled with gratitude for your donations and support. The items I purchased helped in so many ways.
First, I was able to print and laminate materials that the students were able to take home to help reinforce concepts while not at school. They were able to have tangible items that did not rip and were reusable, such as writing their phone number and emergency contact numbers. They were also able to use vocabulary cards to support learning new vocabulary words, such as words related to emotions and feelings. There is so much more that has been created with the tools that were donated!
Next, in addition to laminating, I was able to purchase curriculum that truly benefited the students. For example, I was able to purchase Government materials. One project in particular created a positive impact for my students. Teaching my DHH students about their rights as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing student, and how they can navigate the world, was one of the greatest lessons I have taught. The students were curious, and expressed the desire to learn more about their rights. They asked questions, and would tell me that this was one of the "coolest projects" and one that they will remember as they move on to college and beyond. This was one of the most rewarding lessons that I have had the opportunity to teach.
Lastly, the response I have had from my students, in regards to the materials that I have received, was more than positive and appreciative. Many of my students come from low socioeconomic status and homes where their families do not use ASL to communicate with them, because of this they do not have the proper resources to help guide them. I was able to provide a safe space for them to learn, ask questions, provide worksheets, lessons, and give an overall sense of connection, but most of all I was able to use these materials to teach and discuss in American Sign Language.
Again, thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Your generosity and support mean so much, as I continue to navigate a new career and learn to become a better teacher and support for my students. They are truly the best group of students and deserve the best education to help them succeed!”
