Creating Upper Case Letters With Wooden Pieces
Funded Jan 19, 2023Thanks to your contribution towards our project, we were able to purchase interactive teaching tools for our kids to explore the construction of capital letters. Everyday we've been working on identifying letters. The kids were ready to acquire the skill of writing letters. However, they needed some experience with making letters before writing them. So each morning we put the wooden and magnetic tiles on the table and let them explore how capital letters are formed using big and small lines and big and small curves. They felt so proud when they were able to create the letters they see every day. Some even constructed letters in their names and felt very accomplished. The kids are having a great time with these interactive tools, and are ready to write letters with the knowledge that they gained from using these tools.
Thank you so much for making their learning to read and write capital letters more inquisitive and imaginative!”

Let's Grow Our Imaginations With Dolls, Dinosaurs & Trucks!
Funded Nov 29, 2022The moment the children entered the classroom, they noticed the new wooden vehicles. They immediately asked where they came from. I said, "Special people made a donation so that we can have these toys."
Then I showed them the plush dinosaurs and babies. The students could not contain their excitement and wanted to start playing with them during Center Time. In the pretend area, the kids carried, strolled, and fed the babies. They decided that they were a family and assigned themselves roles in their imaginary family. In the block area, the kids built ramps for the vehicles. One child experimented with how to make the wooden airplane fly. Some wanted to play with the new dinosaurs and vehicles, so they decided to drive the dinosaurs around the room. It was a busy place in our very happy and engaged Pre-K classroom.
Thank you so much for making their play time more inquisitive and imaginative!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Shirley
