My Heart Beats in Two Languages Part 2
Funded Jan 20, 2023Thanks to the materials you kindly provided for my students, I could carry on the Celebration of Learning Project. This project aimed to develop our students' bilingual identity at Glenwood Springs Elementary School. With the cardstock I received, my students made beautiful, colorful cards describing the benefits of being bilingual and written in Spanish. My second-grade students got the chance to teach the school song in Spanish for the first time since the school opened 100 years ago. Using the cardstock, we made beautiful crowns of the school pet which is a Grizzly bear. I saw a high degree of commitment and love towards this project from my kids and I would love to do it again next school year.”

¡Hola Español! My Heart Beats in Two Languages!
Funded Nov 29, 2022I am highly grateful for your donations!
The books I purchased with your donations have supported my emerging Spanish bilinguals in learning the letter sounds and some vocabulary in Spanish.
I have seen my kids feeling successful due to the books being at their reading level. I have used them as supplement readings for my higher-level students. This has been a review and has helped them consolidate their knowledge of the sounds, which has facilitated their reading fluency.
Along with the books, and thanks to your donations, I also received manipulatives to work on the syllables. This has also been a great asset in developing reading fluency in my classes because once the students learn all the sounds in Spanish, they can proceed with the syllables.
Using these materials, my students can enjoy learning Spanish at the time they develop their bilingual identity.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Moran
This classroom project was brought to life by an Anonymous Classroom Supporter and one other donor.
