One Easel...Together We Can Do So Much
Funded Sep 20, 2023My students and I are loving our new easel. We love how easily accessible it is in our classroom. It is best used during small group instruction for reading and math. At times, we also use it to write checklists that we might need during our writing assignments.
The students were so excited when they saw the new easel. They watched me put it together and some were even eager to help. Once it was put together, we tested it out by playing Hangman! They also picked a spot for it in the room to stay when we aren't using it.
We are proud to say that we use this board daily. We are always writing the current date at the top as a reminder for our heading. It is used to teach phonics instruction during reading groups and we write spelling words on there as well. We are grateful for the contribution you made to our classroom.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 5 other donors.Seat Sacks
Funded Oct 23, 2022This year our students were struggling with keeping their desks organized. This became an even bigger struggle when we had them choose three library books to keep inside their desks. Students were giving excuses as to why they couldn't keep them in their desks, therefore they didn't have books to read and their reading levels weren't increasing. That is why we needed to come up with a better plan for our students.
We decided that seat sacks were the best solution for our class. Now, they have all the books they can read at their hands. We've seen an increase in reading interest and in their reading levels. We thank you so much for supporting our students with your generous donations!”

Picture This: An Organized and Safe Classroom
Funded Sep 24, 2022We are so very grateful for your contribution to our classroom. Because of you, we were able to organize our portable student desks and prevent accidents in the classroom. We were also able to make our classroom look more welcoming and neat by storing them in a safe place.
When the students walked in to me building the stand, they were inquisitive. They asked all sorts of questions wondering what it was for. When it was finally complete and I showed them how to stack the chairs, they were excited! No more having the chairs randomly fall during a lesson and stopping everything to fix them was their first thought.
Now every week, we assign one student to collect the chairs and stack them nicely into the rolling organizer. This helps the students learn about responsibility and how to care for their materials.”

Mrs. Gentile
