Occupational Therapy Helps to Put the Fun in Functional
Funded Sep 29, 2022THANK YOU for your generous donation towards creating a dedicated therapy space for my students. I am so grateful; but more importantly, your generosity, support, and investment has and will support increasing attention and the writing skills of our little learners for many, many years to come!
The Occupational Therapy space located on the second floor hallway of our school lacked privacy. Our old four foot room dividers were not tall enough to block off our space to on-coming classes. When the classes are transitioning to the next period, my students and I can see a sea of eyes staring at us. The new six- foot tall room dividers provide a private and designated writing and sensory-gross motor space where our students can learn to write, and calm their bodies.
My students are happier and more focused. Little Johnny said "oh gosh! Ms. Mullins no more see friends (in the hallway)." and another Little friend Kristin said " I like the new space, it so cozy!" What a Success! Having a space with taller room dividers decreases the distraction from the hallway and increases participation during therapy sessions.
Our hopes and dreams for this therapy space it to have an improved dedicated therapy space that we can use to help all of our students with special needs . Thank you again!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Mullins
