Funded Dec 3, 2024We are integrating the new sensory lamps into our classroom routines in exciting ways. One specific project involved using the lamps during a mindfulness session. We created a calming environment where students could engage in deep breathing exercises while the lamps changed colors. This helped them focus and relax, and they shared that the experience made them feel more centered and aware.
When my students first saw the sensory lamps, their reactions were overwhelmingly positive. Their faces lit up with excitement, and they immediately wanted to explore how the colors changed and how they could use them in their activities. This enthusiasm has carried over into our lessons.
For our next steps, we plan to incorporate the sensory lamps into our science unit on light and color. Students will conduct experiments to see how different colors affect their mood and concentration. They'll document their observations in a journal, which we will later share with our donors to show the impact of their contributions on our learning. This project not only enhances their understanding of light but also encourages self-reflection and emotional awareness.”

Funded May 9, 2024In our classroom, we have been making wonderful use of the new resources of matching and sorting vehicle and food toys, organizers for materials, and writing/drawing pads to enhance our learning in various ways. One specific project that captured the students' imagination was our "Transportation and Healthy Eating" activity. Students used the matching and sorting vehicle toys to group different modes of transportation and the food toys to categorize various healthy and unhealthy food items. The organizers for materials proved invaluable in keeping everything tidy and accessible, while the writing/drawing pads allowed students to illustrate scenes of balanced and unhealthy eating habits.
When the students first laid eyes on the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement and wonder. They eagerly explored the colorful toys, tested out the organizers, and immediately began sketching and writing on the pads. Their enthusiasm and creativity were contagious, and it was evident that the new resources had ignited their curiosity and engagement in the lesson.
Looking ahead, the next steps for our students in the current classroom project involve creating a collaborative diorama showcasing a healthy city scene. Students will use the matching and sorting toys to place various vehicles in the city, incorporating their knowledge of transportation and healthy food choices. The writing/drawing pads will be utilized to write short stories about the scene and to draw illustrations of the healthy practices they have learned. This multi-faceted project will further deepen their understanding of the importance of healthy living and sustainable transportation in our communities. Your support has truly enriched our classroom experience, and we are excited to continue sharing our students' progress and future projects with them.”

Funded Sep 11, 2023I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the recent addition of supplies to the third-grade classroom. The inclusion of items such as rugs and pencil holders has had a remarkable impact on our students.
The vibrant rugs have transformed the classroom environment, creating a cozy and inviting space that fosters a positive learning atmosphere. The students now have a designated area for group activities and discussions, enhancing their collaborative skills. Additionally, the pencil holders have not only organized the students' writing tools but have also instilled a sense of responsibility as they learn to maintain their supplies.
These seemingly small additions have significantly contributed to the overall learning experience of our third-grade students, making the classroom a more engaging and organized place. We have witnessed improved focus during lessons and a growing enthusiasm for learning.
Thank you once again for your thoughtful contribution to our classroom. Your support is making a lasting impact on the education and development of our students.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity. With this gift, the students have been able to learn through various adapted books and multiple platforms. Some of my students also have been working on the skill of learning to print by themselves and your gift has helped with that concept. Having a printer and paper in the classroom, the students have become more independent. They are able to go to a computer and print (with some physical support) what they need for their academics for that day.
What's the most exciting to the students about the printer is that it was brand new. The printer is also easy enough to set up where the students were able to assist with inserting the cartridge ink. Some students are working on grasping various objects, so those students have been working on grasping the ink and placing it into the proper slot. Also, some students are working on identifying colors/ matching colors so having them put in the ink cartridge allowed them to practice that skill.
Thank you again for giving my students the technology to help them grow.”
