  • MacBook Air...Technology with Endless Possibilities!

    Funded Jan 1, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation. It is truly a wonderful gift that will greatly benefit my students. As we navigated the Macbook, we came across various Applications that we can download that will help the students participate in learning in ways that would not have been possible. We were able to download text to speech which would not have been possible with the school's locked computers. The students explored simulated environments which helped them explore different surroundings and emotions. The students are also eager to try out AI software to learn about the different tools available that can allow the students to communicate in different ways. This will be good practice for future conversations, etc. We also downloaded software that will help with projects, allowing students to edit photos and create videos for projects. Again, thank you so much.”

  • Educational Experiences via Virtual Reality for All Students!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

We would like to thank you again for your support and generosity. Students are reminded every time they walk into my classroom that they are welcomed, respected and important. I believe in representation in my classroom, and I want all my students to see themselves doing amazing things. These virtual reality headsets help make this possible.

The students were very curious and excited when introduced to the virtual reality headsets. I was able to incorporate these virtual reality headsets into my lessons and the students were extremely happy about it. I incorporated real experiences into my lessons and the students were given the opportunity to explore many different surroundings which are not accessible to us. Instead of just showing students pictures of what people, places, animals, and things look like, I was able to take them there via virtual reality. We explored various places via "YouTube VR" 360 videos and took tours at historical monuments in different parts of the world. The students were also able to explore different cultures as well. The students are now always eager to see what they will explore next and super excited. They are just amazed with these experiences and I can hear it in their voices each time.

We are currently studying natural environments; therefore, the students have been experiencing nature by exploring jungles, rainforests, the ocean, mountains, etc. These virtual reality headsets have made a big difference; they have allowed the students to learn by removing distractions while immersing them in the subject matter. These experiences have been engaging, and impactful for my students and there is no doubt that they will be memorable as well. These headsets are a very exciting addition to our classroom, and we are all looking forward to even more experiences. We are all very grateful to you.”

  • Diversity and Inclusion Books!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

We would like to thank you again for your support and generosity. My students were so surprised when the books arrived and very excited as well. Many of the students were eager and gravitated towards books with familiarity. The students read some books then exchanged them with each other to discuss the stories they had read, and what they had learned.

Allowing students such a range of books which they can relate to and that are diverse and inclusive as well, impacted the students more than I could have imagined. Some of my students were very proud to read books about people just like them. The books selection consisted of so many different cultures and various disabilities, which gave the students an opportunity to bring their languages, cultures, histories, voices and unique experiences into our classroom.

When everyone is included, everyone wins! My students are ambitious, motivated, and creative; they really love reading these books. We have all learned from these books and will continue learning as we continue to explore this large selection of books. An appealing, inspiring collection of books is a crucial tool in every classroom, and thanks to your donation we are able to experience these inspiring books.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rivera
