Cultivating Strong Readers
Funded Jan 26, 2023Thank you so much for your support for my project, cultivating strong readers. As an ELA teacher, I often hear that students do not like ELA , however, this is due to not having found the right book, message or character that inspires them to continue exploring and reading further into the character's life. Our unit was stronger due to having perspectives of various the literature.
Thanks to the generous donation of the $100 Teachers Pay Teachers I was able to create amazing lessons that scaffold complex subjects. In Social Studies, I was able to help students understand the concept of founding fathers using artistic expression.”

Grow Where You Are Planted
Funded Sep 29, 2022Your support is goes beyond what I can put in words. This was my first project that I ever created through Donor's Choose, this project has a special place in my heart because my students truly appreciated the different materials we used.
Students were able to use the Cornell note lined paper to write their notes, some of my students struggle to keep up with the notes and this greatly helped the students keep up. The Time for Kids subscription is an amazing resource when I taught students about informational articles and how to find and write a main idea.
The Birthday pencils are small yet mighty, students love receiving their birthday pencil, it puts a smile on their face. Thank you so much for your kindness.”
With gratitude,

This classroom project was brought to life by Smarties Candy Company and one other donor.Using Colorful Language
Funded Oct 9, 2022With your support we were able to use the color pencils and markers to create beautiful character mind mirrors. The mind mirror is a tool that is used in the ELA or humanities classroom. It is used to help a student understand the character , using details from the text, images , symbols and the students' own thoughts.
My students enjoyed this activity, they even wanted to stay more time in the class to finish their work. Students were ecstatic to use the materials given to us. Moving forward, we will continue to use more art based activities to enhance the students' understanding of the texts.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Bazan
