  • Pages of Possibility: Expanding Literacy through Empowering Students

    Funded Jan 17, 2024

Your book donations have had a profound and far-reaching positive impact on my students and other students who have been able to uses the materials you have helped my class to acquire. As I continue to expand my classroom library the students continue to have access to reading materials for those who may not have the means to purchase books themselves. This, in turn, fosters a love for learning and expands their knowledge and imagination. Thank you so much for your continued support of my classroom and the students who continue to benefit from your generosity.

I would like to extend a special thank you to "A Family That Cares in Boston" for funding the largest portion of this project. It continues to fill my heart that their are people in our community that foster the learning environment for students even if they are not directly in their own community.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Alcid

  • Flourish A Love Of Reading

    Funded Jul 18, 2023

Your donations have profoundly enriched the educational experience for my students, particularly in fostering a culture of independent reading. Through your generous contributions it has provided students with a diverse array of literary options. This abundance not only expanded the range of available genres but also allowed students to explore topics and perspectives beyond their typical academic curriculum. As a result, the positive impact on students' engagement with independent reading has been unmistakable. With access to a broader selection of books, students have discovered a newfound enthusiasm for exploring literature on their own terms, cultivating a sense of autonomy and curiosity that extends beyond the confines of structured classroom learning. Donations, therefore, have played a pivotal role in nurturing a love for reading among students, instilling in them a lifelong appreciation for the power of literature to broaden their horizons and deepen their understanding of the world.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Alcid

  • First Block (7:20-9:00) Motivation

    Funded Feb 20, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations - I am already seeing a rise in productivity as a result of your generosity! My students struggle to stay motivated for over an hour each morning but report that having healthy snacks, cocoa, and coffee has made a huge difference in their desire to sustain their attentions. They love the new coffee machine in particular and will often say that the overall vibe of the room feels good and conducive to learning.

Thank you for your support of my amazing young people - they really are the most delightful humans and I appreciate all of your help in keeping them on track.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Alcid

  • New Voices for Young People

    Funded Oct 10, 2022

Thank you so much for the generous donation to our classroom library. Your contributions have expanded the opportunities for my students to both see themselves and the wider world through literature and the enduring characters and situations contained therein. My students just finished Allegedly by Tiffany Jackson, one of the titles requested, and they are STILL talking about the edge of your seat plot and wildly vivid characters. Without your contributions I would not be able to branch out into new territory with my amazing young people, thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Alcid
