3K On the Big Screen!
Funded Sep 29, 2022Technology use is so important in schools especially with the little ones and early childhood education. The use of technology is so beneficial because it acts as a built in visual and audio support aid. Students are also able to interact by touching the board/screen as if they are playing a game. It allows them to interact hands on throughout the lesson and/or activity. Additionally, many students use technology at home so they already know what to do so it is also familiar to them and gives them more language opportunities.
The use of the projector and screen in our school block room is so exciting to the students. The students can play and explore in this room with images and clips blown up big on the screen for them to look at and replicate using blocks. Teachers have created drawings on the wall of city buildings and community helper building by looking at photos as a model. Teachers and students together can look at the screen and decide what they want to build each day!
Many of my English as Second Language students have been enjoying this project because the visuals are very engaging and motivating to them.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you so much for giving my students the change to incorporate multiple cultures into their daily centers. The materials provided have been so excited to the children. These materials are embedded in our music center, dramatic play center, block center, and library center to allow students to explore and enjoy. Students love striking up a band at any time in the music center. They love using the new instruments are learning some of the names, like triangle, maraca, bongo, and gong. They love seeing the visuals of these instruments represented next to their country flag in our library center.
The students were so excited to discover they had new materials to use and play with. Some of them were even calling them the "new instruments" for a few days!
Also, they were so excited to see the new dress up clothing pieces. They are displayed in our dramatic play center with corresponding pictures of the students wearing them. the students love pretend playing and dressing up to represent different cultures. They love the different representations of culture and are even beginning to identify and match which pieces go together by looking at photos!
We can't wait to continue to utilize these pieces as we start to look into clothing and buildings/homes around the world!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Nikki
