Spanish Classroom Decorations and Incentives
Funded Jun 18, 2024My students loved getting the incentive stickers on their most recent quiz. They loved that the stickers were in Spanish. They even discussed what stickers were on each other's paper. I know seeing the stickers on the quizzes will motivate other students to study a little more to get one on their next quiz.
The new books about authors are a perfect way to keep students engaged in Spanish. When they finish their work, I can tell them to grab a book and start reading. Most of them have never read a book in Spanish, so it is exciting!
Finally, the country name plates are beautifully decorating my storage cabinet. I move my students around in the seats a lot. Throughout the year, they will have plenty of opportunities to sit near the cabinet. When they look at the doors, they will be learning about a country. It really does keep them learning about Spanish language and culture.
Thank you again for supporting teachers and helping to engage my students in learning.”

Funded Mar 10, 2024Your donation has impacted every World Language student at Maury High School. Thank you for your gift of the color laser printer. This year we hosted a 1000 student gallery walk. Every student was invited to come to the gallery walk and interact with our 15 stations. At every station, the student completed an activity related to the country and then filled out a passport page. With the laser printer, we were able to print color images to bring the activities to life. We were also able to print the passport with which students completed tasks as they rotated through the sections. Each station showcased a cultural feature (art, music, architecture, food, etc.) unique to various places in the world.
Due to your donation, each student was able to immerse in day of cultural learning. I was able to print out all the pictures to make each station come alive. The students loved learning in such an interactive way. The diversity of the stations allowed students to connect with places that they might have been unfamiliar with.
In closing, we were also able to expose the freshman class to languages offered at our high school. This interactive experience allowed for a low stress introduction to languages that they might not have known we have. Your donation has allowed us to spark interest in over 1000 students. Thank you.”

Funded Sep 13, 2022The 9th graders at Maury were able to stand out at the pep rally. They were proud that they represented the school as a team. We didn't win the pep rally competition but we were able to win the banner competition. As we presented the banner, the 9th grade wore their light up
Glasses and cheered. As a teacher, I was proud and grateful that the 9th grade was finally not embarrassed for just showing up at the pep rally unprepared. After the pep rally, the 9th graders have been eager to join in other 9th grade activities and look forward to the next pep rally, and look forward to winning!!”
