Science Expo
Funded Sep 29, 2022Once again thank you for your generosity and for helping to make our Science Expo a reality. Our Ambassadors will always remember this meaningful experience and their memories will help to shape not only their future in Science but their outlook on why the study of Science is vital in developing an understanding of the world around them.
During the Science Expo the specimens received served to create an environment of wonder, curiosity and excitement. When viewing the cow eye our Ambassadors literally had an eye opening experience as they not only explored the anatomy of a once living thing, but learned about their own eyes and how they compare to the eye function of a cow. During the dissection of the fetal pig our Ambassadors were able to compare the organ block of a fetal pig to the function of the human body systems that they have learned about in our Living Environment class. When exploring the composition of the owl pellets, our Ambassadors were able to see what they have learned about the food web in person and made predictions on what they expected to find within the pellet itself. The overall reaction of our Ambassadors was one of gratitude and humility as they built awareness to how the study of Science can contribute to the world around them.
As we continue to move forward with our curriculum we will be able to make real life connections to these experiences making new learning more meaningful and impactful. Thank you again for your generosity and for making this Expo a reality.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Mendez
