Expanding Students' Creative Maker Space
Funded Oct 29, 2022We are incredibly appreciative for your interest in, and support for our students and school program. Your generosity has had immeasureable impact.
With these new additions, we have been able to expand what students can physically create and where they can create it! We host a yearly Exhibition of student work at an off-site location and invite not just students and families but also community partners and other district partners. This is a wonderful way to showcase our students' hard work and creative abilities.
By transporting the cricut machine to the event site, we were able to demonstrate to the school community and partners how a digital design can become a sticker. We used a student's design to mass print custom school logo stickers. Participants then engaged in "weeding" which is the process of using specialized tools to eliminate any parts of the vinyl material that is not necessary for the final sticker product.
This helped us to make design and creation visible to a wider audience. Design does not have to live just in the classroom or design studio, or makers space; it can live outside and should be shared with many. Your generosity helped to make this happen. We are very grateful.”

Functional Workspace Utopia
Funded Oct 1, 2022We deeply appreciate your generous donation to our class! Your generosity is essential to supporting our students in their learning journey.
The work tables have been very useful. Students have the opportunity to use them daily when working on their physical products. Other students use the work bench area for designing their digital art. And also, our chromebook repair interns use the space to fix broken devices throughout the school.
The TV stands have transformed the way students can share their work and the way in which I present information in the class space. It has been so helpful for small, intimate group instruction tutorial and also whole school visuals.
All of the tools and resources purchased have made an impact on turning the classroom into a very productive workspace for students. It has also supported every learner to feel more comfortable to be creative in their own way within the space that has multiple options for them.
We are so fortunate to have a donor to support our growing learning space for our students.”

Students DIY-ing Their Way into Entrepreneurship
Funded Oct 1, 2022Thank you for your generosity! We have been so busy! Students have been designing and cutting their original keychain designs. So many students have ideas for their own brands and have enjoyed seeing them come to life. It has been great to witness them engage with a hands-on project that inspires creativity.
As a result, we hope to inspire students to want to create their own pieces and start their own business. One specific student made a bith plaque for a newborn sibling. It was so popular that many other family members requested duplicates or original pieces; some as plaques but others as keychains or pendants. This opened up possibilities, ideas, and opportunities she had never thought of.
Thank you! Your support has helped shift student engagement, processing and future planning!!”

Re-Vinyl-izing Designs
Funded Sep 28, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity. It has made such a postivie impact on our class and especially with our students. Everyone was so suprised at the amount of items we were able to purchase and the set up for our space, and the expansion have been coming along, it has really made a difference in the learning and creativity of students. Having the new materials makes it so that we can expand our space and what students can create. It has also aided some of our other teacher on-campus to be able to expand their class projects to included design and printing as well.
Right now, students have been designing different logos and t-shirts with personal or resistance statements. They are first designing online use a digital platform and then transfering that to a vinyl cut. Lastly, they then use the heat press to apply it to the t-shirt. If they do not want a t-shirt, they also have the option to make a sticker.
For future projects, we are planning for students to expand past the t-shirts and designing for other materials (bags, hats, mugs). Some students are starting to design for our recognition celebrations, and some want to expand to start up their own brands. We are happy to be able to keep encouraging them to be creative and to explore these options! This is all thans to your donation.”
