Funded Apr 16, 2024With your donation to my classroom, I was able to add more books that are Spring related and it has made reading time so much more enjoyable. Where we live, we get to experience all 4 seasons, so it is important for me to teach it appropriately and accurately. During reading time I expect for the kids to sit back and relax. We read books everyday after lunch to give them the time to unwind from recess and transition back to the classroom peacefully.
Since were are in our final stretch of the school year, I've almost all of my books, so this new batch of books really excited my class. When I shared the news that we received a donation of books all the students cheered. They wanted me to read all the books at once, but I let them know that we could take our time reading them to fully enjoy them.”

Funded Mar 11, 2024In my classroom we read books every single day, but on occasion, I don't have books to make some of our themes so we have to opt out for a YouTube read aloud. My students enjoy watching the YouTube read aloud videos, but I have noticed they tend to get distracted easily unlike when we were doing a book read on our rug. I enjoy spending 10-15 minutes a day reading to my students on the rug because they all get really excited and always want to come up to help me read.
We are in the final stretch of our school year and by this time we are really focusing on reading sight words and CVC words. It is important for me to have a variety of books to choose from because it keeps them engaged with me. When we are doing a classroom read aloud, the students point out words that we've worked on and it really ties in the importance of learning to read sight words and CVC. With this donation we were able to read so many St. Patrick's day books, which was extra delightful! Thank you so much from every single student and I.”
