I teach at a Title 1 school in Santa Rosa, CA where about 85% of students receive free or reduced price lunch and about 80% of students are second language learners. My first grade class is an enthusiastic group of young learners! They are kind, curious, and creative. I have 12 boys and 12 girls who are just adorable! Most of these students came to first grade below grade level. It is my desire to get them through first grade prepared to meet the challenges of second grade. My hope is for my students to develop a love of learning and reading. First grade is a critical year and I am excited to see my students grow and develop as learners.
