  • Nurturing Community

    Funded Nov 6, 2024

I can't thank you enough for your kindness and generosity in supporting my classroom! Thanks to your donations, my students now have a cozy new rug where we gather for lessons, discussions, and community-building activities. It has truly enhanced our learning space, giving us a warm and inviting spot to start our day together, share ideas, and support one another.

The excitement on my students' faces when they saw the rug for the first time was priceless! They immediately sprawled out on it, eager to take their places for our morning meeting. It has quickly become the heart of our classroom, where we not only learn but also build friendships and confidence.

In addition to the rug, the new headphones have been a game-changer. My students use tablets for independent reading and assessments, and having quality headphones has helped them stay focused without distractions. I've already noticed a big difference in their ability to stay on task, and they take such great care of them, knowing how special they are.

As we move forward, we're working on strengthening our reading and math skills, and these resources will continue to support their growth every day. Your generosity has made such an impact, not just in providing materials but in showing my students that there are people out there who believe in them and want to see them succeed.

Thank you for being part of our classroom and for making such a meaningful difference in my students' learning journey. We are so grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rodriguez

  • New School Year, More Growing!

    Funded Oct 30, 2023

Thank you for your generous contributions to our classroom. Every item donated played a major roll in student success for the 2023-2024 school year! Our class was immensely grateful for all the donations received. The new whiteboards motivated students to show their best work and give their best efforts. Participation and engagement increased instantly!

Students demonstrated great appreciation for the flexibility available of differentiated seating. They elected to use the seating as a cozy option during independent reading and some thrived in using it while engaging in a lesson! Thank you again for your contributions and interests in our future leaders success!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rodriguez

  • Read Baby Read!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Through your generous donations my students at the young age of 4 have developed a strong curiosity for reading! For many it is the first time they got to hold a brand new book and for many the first time they saw characters in a book looked like them!

Although my students are not yet reading these books independently, they picked up foundational skills. Students learned concepts of print, distinguished how letters became words to make a full sentence in order to tell an interesting story. They learned how to correctly hold a book and how to gently turn the page. Students learned where to begin reading on a page and how to slide their fingers left to right. Students learned how to identify a setting and characters in a book and developed an understanding a book has a beginning, middle and end.

Students enjoyed sitting in our library center turning the pages and exploring the pictures on our new books. They especially enjoyed reenacting many of their favorite stories, like The Very Hungry Caterpillar which later allowed us to watch our very own caterpillars transform to butterflies! Some students connected with stories like Under My Hijab and Jabari Jumps which quickly became their favorite books; these stories encouraged students to ask questions, develop a stronger vocabulary and learn about the world around us.

Thank you for supporting my students begin a positive journey in reading!”

  • Cultivating Lifelong Learners!

    Funded Sep 10, 2022

The new materials you donated for my classroom have been placed in their designated learning centers which has allowed my students to begin learning important life skills such as sharing, caring for our belongings and developing curiosity of the world around them!

For many of my students it is the first time they are away from family for long hours, as well as, the first time they step foot in a school setting. As you might remember from your own experiences, those first time moments can be scary and can stir up nerves. Thanks to your generous donations, my students were able to experience joy and excitement when they first arrived to the classroom as they looked around at all their new materials! Students have had the opportunity to explore colors, sorting and numbers, how to hold a book, find pictures and words in books, expand their vocabulary through our dramatic play center and develop their imagination through the use of blocks and pretend play. In just a few days, your gifts have enhanced my students development and I guarantee it will continue to create memorable experiences for them!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rodriguez
