    Thank you so much for your generosity this past year in donating to my classroom. The seat cushions have been so useful this year! I have used them for story book time, centers work, and full group instruction. Because my younger grades move between activities so often, and with so many movement activities, I did not want to confine them to chairs and take away our creative space. Your gift has been such a blessing in keeping our classroom a unique space to learn and grow.

    The students were so excited to start using the cushions in the room! I loved seeing how well they took care of them and how responsibly they took them out and cleaned them up. They were so grateful for the cushions and it really has helped a lot of them get more engaged now that they can feel comfortable in the space.

    I hope to continue using the cushions with all age groups as I incorporate more small group learning and projects into my lesson plans. Thank you again for you generosity.”

  • Ukulele Storage and Accessibility Project

    My students were SO excited upon seeing the ukuleles displayed on our wall. All grade levels were excited about being able to use and learn how to play the ukuleles. Every day the students came in asking if we they get to play the ukulele that day. It was so exciting for me to see them excited about learning.

    We learned chords and strumming patterns to be able to play along with songs they enjoyed. The best feeling is when they play and sing along, especially middle school as they hate to do anything that feels like performing. We ended our 9 week quarter with the ukulele unit and so many students asked if they get to play them next year when they come back. Some of them even expressed wanting to get their own!

    My next 9 week quarter is starting this week, with all new students. Same reactions from all the students - ready to get started learning the ukuleles. We will begin our ukulele unit in a few weeks after we nail down some procedures, but I am looking forward to see this new group learn to love music and the ukulele.”
