Fun Healing Space for All!
Funded Nov 25, 2023Your generosity has been extremely rewarding for my students. The students have been lighting up every time they walk into my room and see the light covers. It has been so therapeutic for them to have a rug to lay on the floor and be comfortable. Having a safe environment for students to share their vulnerabilities is a key component for therapy.
Visual stimuli's are a positive way to also grab a student's attention and the Note to Self sign has been a great conversation starter for me and the students. We have been able to define which affirmation best suits them and look at what that means to each one of the kids that I work with. I continue to be grateful and will utilize these tools to work with the students this year and many more years to come.”

Funded Oct 26, 2022It has been extremely beneficial for my students to have supplies that they can understand and utilize on a day to basis. The fifth graders who have been new to this country were having a difficult time at the beginning of the year as they did not have any reading materials that they could utilize and access within their environment. It has been a blessing for the students to have access to titles like Harry Potter to be able to grasp and participate in their time with their peers during designated blocks in their day. I have also been able to use other books within SEL lessons with other students in the classroom setting. One of the books, the invisible string workbook has been used this year for several students as they have unfortunately lost a family member or left a family member behind in their native countries. I am extremely grateful for the generosity that was extended to me and my students in order for them to feel a sense of belonging in their school and in a new country.”
