  • Perfect Portfolios

    Funded Apr 3, 2025

Thank you so much for funding this project! Providing my art students with folders for their work has made such an impact in my classroom. Not only do these folders keep artwork safe, they are also a hit with students that love to show their creativity through designing the covers with personalized drawings. I cannot wait to receive these folders and continue this practice in my classroom!”

  • Weaving Winners

    Funded Jan 24, 2024

Thanks to your generous donation, my students are able to experience the art of weaving. This is an important art skill for many reasons. One reason is due to weaving's high impact on fine motor skill development. My students' fine motor skills will become stronger using the loom, and their other artwork will greatly benefit from this. Another reason is providing students with a different art medium they have possibly never used before in previous Art classrooms. Experiencing and working with multiple mediums allows students to develop personal connections to one or many that they can further use in other art projects.

I am looking forward to seeing the social, emotional, and mental impact this provides students in my classroom, as well. Weaving is a peaceful and therapeutic art form that I love to be able to provide to my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lefevre

  • Yearning for Yarn

    Funded Feb 7, 2024

Thank you for donating to my project. The yarn donated helps students become introduced to the art concept of weaving. Supplying students with a range of yarn types and colors offers them free choice and expression in their projects.

Some of the yarn will be used for a collaborative piece that all students will be able to take part in. On the "friendly loom" which was also a Donors Choose project, students from every classroom will weave into the loom with the materials provided.

I am looking forward to when students finish this collaborative piece to be donated to the school in their own way.”

  • Making Clean Messes

    Funded Feb 22, 2024

Thank you so much for your contribution of these materials to our Art room. Supplying students with the necessary tools for clean working is essential at our school. Classes come in and out of the Art room about every fifty-five minutes. Being able to have students paint and transition quickly for the next class to come into a clean space has been a hurdle to overcome. I am happy to say with these materials, the cleanup process has taken a shorter amount of time. Students are also getting less paint on themselves thanks to the aprons -- so families are especially happy about that! Thank you again for supporting my Art students!”

  • Buttons of Belonging

    Funded Mar 24, 2024

My students were so excited to be able to share something about themselves through this project. Creating a button with their own design and being able to wear it or share it was a big hit. This project really brought our community together.

The process of taking their designs and putting them into the button forms was an eye-opening experience for many of my students. Understanding how to cut out the correct size shape, compile all the parts that make the button, and observing the button press in action was a great learning experience.

I am so thrilled to have been able to provide my students with a project that not only allowed them to be openly creative, but how to use their art in a medium that can be shared easily with a public audience.”

  • Stools for the Artistic Thinkers

    Funded Dec 12, 2023

These replacement stools arrived at just the right time for my classroom. As the school year moves along, my current stools continue to break down-- screws come loose, legs bend and make an uneven platform for sitting.

The new stools provide a more comfortable and safe working environment for my students. As they draw or create delicate works of art, they are no longer fighting against a stools that rocks or breaks.

My goal is to replace all of my stools in my classroom. Once that happens, I hope to create an art project for students to draw and paint a design on the stools.”

  • Keeping Creative Marks Flowing

    Funded May 9, 2023

Markers are a staple of all classrooms. In the Art room, they are like gold! I am so grateful for the donation of the box of markers to my classroom.

Markers are used most often in my Art classroom. They provide bold colors and patterns to make our pop art projects truly pop off the page. Unfortunately, the markers are used so often, they run dry very quickly. Keeping a steady supply of markers has truly kept my students' creative marks flowing!

We use markers straight to paper most of the time. On some projects we create lines of color that are then washed with water paintbrushes to create a new texture and unique application of pigment to our works of art!”

  • Fantastic Art Folders

    Funded Aug 31, 2023

I am so grateful for this donation of folders to my Art classroom. Using this folder system for student work is a huge game changer. As messy as projects can get in the Art room, the folders give a sacred and clean space for students to store their ideas, rubrics, practice worksheets, and written responses.

For example, students practiced oil pastel value charts on worksheets before they created sunflowers on construction paper. As students worked, they were able to easily look back at their practice worksheet which was neatly stored in their folder.

Before having folders, student papers would pile up on the class work shelves in bins, but would constantly go missing. The folders gave students and myself the organization this Art room has been desperately needing!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lefevre
