A Place to Learn
Funded Aug 31, 2023We absolutely LOVE our new world map rug. The students love how it looks in the classroom and they love being able to see different parts of the world while we learn new things in Science and Social Studies. On the first day we rolled the rug out, they could not stop lying and rolling on the rug - they're so silly!
The rug is really valueable to one of my 5th graders. He sometimes struggles to communicate, but he is so inquisitive about different parts of the world, that the rug brings out so many ideas and and questions for him. It is really helping him thrive academically and conversationally.
Our new rug has already been a great place of fun and learning for my whole class. We cannot thank you enough for this amazing new addition to our classroom!”

Funded Oct 1, 2022My class and I want to thank you SO SO much for being so generous and helping our classroom meet our needs. The squishy seats are a classroom favorite. The students love chosing different colors and have the chance to change up how/where they sit. I have found this to be crucial for this crew and their learning. Getting "the wiggles" out is not something they can quite do on their own, so this is a fun and easy way to keep them in their seats and focused on their learning. One of my students loved them so much, she asked to bring one with her when she goes to her resource classroom!
The students also love the STEM activities. In the beginning of the year, they had a hard time working and playing together. Social/communication skills are something they typically have to be taught, but when they started choosing these STEM activities during their breaks, they began working together, communicating with each other, and even willingly sharing! It has been amazing for their life skills in ways I never imagined.
Finally, I'd like to share that the Wikki Stix became a favorite for one of my students. His verbal skills are not very strong, but he does really well practicing sight words and spelling CVC words. While I thought the Wikki Stix would be used to build things, he gravitated toward using them to practice the words he is learning. It has been so great to see him forming letters with them, because he really doesn't enjoy writing. It has been so amazing seeing him focus and work so hard.
Thank you again. Our classroom would not be where it is today without you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Buongiovanni
