Scientific Calculators for Young Scientists!
Funded Nov 29, 2022Thank you so much for your contribution towards purchasing my students a class-set of calculators!
Science and math often overlap, requiring my students to complete calculations in class. By having a class-set of calculators, I am able to provide all of my students equal access to this tool which is imperative to their success in science courses.
Many students have to depend on the calculator on their phone if their teacher is not able to provide a calculator. This can lead to distraction in class, and phone calculators are not as user-friendly as a scientific calculator. By having a class-set of calculators, my students are able to complete calculations in class much easier and without distraction.
Thank you again for your donation! My students and I greatly appreciate your support.”
With gratitude,

Funded Sep 22, 2022My students were ecstatic when we received lab stools for our classroom! The lab stools allow my students to collaborate and work in small groups at the lab tables. Since receiving this donation, I have been able to incorporate more group work into my lesson planning as I now have appropriate seating to accommodate student collaboration.
Most recently, my students used the lab stools when working on a poster project together. Students worked at the lab tables in small groups to create posters on the states of matter. Going forward, I have several stations activities and group work planned to help students prepare for the Chemistry final exam.
My students and I greatly appreciate your contribution to our classroom!”

Funded Sep 27, 2022My students were so excited to receive our molecular modeling kits! Before receiving the molecular modeling kits, my classroom had only one molecular modeling kit for my entire class to share. The new kits allow small groups of students to build molecules in order to visualize the shape various molecules make.
In class, students have used the molecular modeling kits to complete a stations activity in which they determined molecule shape and polarity of various molecules. The kits were also used to help students visualize single, double, and triple covalent bonding.
In addition to the modeling kits, your donation provided my students with weigh boats and a scale to be used in lab exercises. These materials have been used multiple times already, most recently in a Heat of Solution lab in which students practiced weighing out solid ionic compounds using the new weigh boats and scale.
My students and I are very appreciative for your donation to our classroom!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Szczesniak
