  • Art, Supplies, and More! Oh, My!

    Thank you so much for your very generous donation.

    The posters and wall hangings I got reflect some of the literature we read in my classroom, which shows students how excited I am to teach those pieces and for them to see a visual representation.

    The other pieces of "artwork" wall hangings I got are motivational from many important people in our society and it shows how everyone, no matter race or religion or sexual preference is accepted and motivated to better themselves. That was the biggest take from my order. Everything else helps me in the classroom and also helps to incentivize the students; they love the squishy Mochi toys and will do what they must to earn them.

    I want to start with a giant THANK YOU!! This project was really important to show that we want to share our differences in race, religion, sexuality, and gender. Many of these books represent who my amazing students are. My students are inspired by the artwork and the amazing books that I researched for them. It's nice to see them sitting in the reading nook after they completed their classwork.

    This project has helped to incentivize my students to participate more in class activities. They receive PBIS points for the following:

    When they have earned enough points, they can redeem them for snacks or tactile items like crock charms, fidget toys, and bracelets. By being able to supply these items, from the generosity of the donors, my students are more likely to participate and be active during class.
