This classroom project was brought to life by Riot Games Social Impact Fund and 3 other donors.All-staar Learning
Funded Mar 10, 2023Thanks you for all your support. The impact of your donation helped several students achieve their goal. Over 50 percent of all 8th grader passed the Algebra STAR exam. These 8th grader will now be entering high school with high school credit towards graduating high school.
I used the gift card towards making personal anchor charts for each student.
Every student has a different needs, therefore I was able to access all the lesson plans from TPT and create impactful anchor charts. I printed class sets and I also printed individual sets for those students who needed extra support.
The results are in, and the principal at our school reported that we scored an A as whole Algebra Team.
I could have not done it without your help and support. Thanks!!!”

Math Buzzer Game
Funded Sep 4, 2022Students are using the dry erase boards to show their work during classroom discussions and lessons. Students are way more engaged when they do not have to write down math problems on worksheets. They are also able to share and compare quickly with others in the classroom.
We also played the math matching game, which required students to write the correct formula or equation next to the corresponding vocabulary words and definitions on dry erase boards.
Students were buzzing out of control when they first got their hands on the buzzers. They would not and could not control themselves from pressing the buttons. A different colored buzzer makes a different sound. This was essential when we played math jeopardy for points. It helped identify which team pressed the button first.
We plan to continue using these materials as we prepare for the STAAR. Thank you for all your support. I'm looking forward to the new year as we continue to keep the students engaged in classroom activities with the material that you have provided.”
