Problem Solving Skills
Funded Dec 4, 2022Covid seclusion has left our students lacking basic social and problem solving skills. Collaboration and attention spans have much diminished in the classroom. Basic skills used for problem solving have been lost. Teachers have much work to do to bring our students back to problem solving team players that can address modern day issues with a positive attitude whilst maintaining a sense of accomplishment.
Having manipulatives such at those requested in my Donors Choose campaign engage students. They have been using magnets to build simple structures while collaborating with their teammates on best building practices. Students are working together again, without the stress of an "assignment". They are decision making young adults that are starting to learn to talk to each other again. They are sharing their building ideas and executing them creatively.
Thank you for continuing to support our classrooms and rebuild our future scholars.”

Plan, Test Ideas, Solve Problems
Funded Sep 5, 2022We were out of our building for a year and a half during COVID. Social Skills, coping skills, decoding skills went right out the window. I have used the items donated to not only plan, test ideas and solve problems, but also address the need for team building and social skill acclimation. The magnets and puzzle table were a big hit! The students ask to use the items almost daily. Thank you for helping rebuild a stronger school community! Donors like you make coming to school fun and engaging!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Conway
