  • Putting the "Kind" in Kindergarten!

    Funded Dec 4, 2023

Thank you so very much for your generous donation to my classroom. The students and I are beyond grateful for the materials that allowed us to explore a unit on kindness and friendship. This unit has been more than a lesson it has become a classroom culture.

We have been reading all of the wonderful books that your donation has added to our classroom library. They have made great read alouds as well as books for book looking during quiet reading time. We have been able to use the lessons that we have learned in the stories to expand them to our writing time as well as our Social Emotional Learning time.

We created a classroom bulletin board that was centered around Kindness. This was such a fun activity that touched on art and writing. The students are so excited to see their work displayed in the hall for the entire school to see. The books and resources that this projected provided has not only helped my classroom this year but will also help many classes in the future.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Patch

  • Building a Positive Classroom Community through Literature!

    Funded Oct 18, 2023

Thank you for the bottom of my heart! Your donation has helped make my Social Emotional library come to life! The students were so excited to see the boxes arrive and they were even more excited to see what was inside. My students love books and they love to be read to so adding these books to our classroom library has been amazing!

We have used the Grumpy Monkey books to discuss our feelings. These books have been so great to spark developmentally appropriate conversations about this topic. These books have led themselves to our writing and have connected to many great writing prompts centered around our feelings and the feelings of others.

These books will be cherished for years to come!”

  • Building Our Classroom Community... One Little Library at a Time

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

We can not begin to thank you enough! This project was a very special one! With your help I was not only able to create a classroom library but also a special calming space in my classroom. The look on my student's faces were priceless as the BIG boxes began to arrive. The students would try to guess what was inside before I opened the box! They were so excited by bean bag chairs, lights and books.

This library has giving my classroom such a warm and welcoming feeling. My students love to visit this space. It is used many times a day during Literacy Centers, Book Looking Time or when my students just need a little time to cool off and relax.

I am so happy with the way out Little Library turned out. I love that this is a donation that will be used for many years to come. I hope to add many books to this space but I plan to concentrate on books that provide the students with social emotional topics as well as books that they can begin to read on their own.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Patch

  • Big Learning for Little Hands!

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

My goal for this year was to provide my students with visually stimulating, hands on materials that would help them learn while having fun! I have been working toward this goal every day with the help of your donations. My students were so excited as they watched all of the new supplies come in. They wanted to try a different game and activity every day.

During our day in Kindergarten my students spend approximately two hours participating in learning centers each day. I received so many amazing hands on manipulatives to use during these centers and my students love them all. I am now able to provide them with their own dry eraser to use while working on numbers, letters and words. Something as small as that has made such a difference. They get so excited to see what color they will get! They also love the math and alphabet games. The letter matching car game is definitely a classroom favorite. I love how many of the supplies, such as the dry erase dice, can be used over and over again to help me teach so many different skills.

Providing a learning environment that is not only fun but developmentally appropriate is something that is very important to me. Hands on materials at this age helps my students to understand the world around them. Thank you again for helping me to reach my goal and for making learning fun for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Patch

  • Out With the Old... in With the New Curriculum!

    Funded Jan 5, 2023

We can not thank you enough for your generous donation to our classroom. It was like Christmas morning when the boxes arrived at school!

Recently our district adopted a brand new Math curriculum as well as a brand new ELA curriculum. These changes came with many benefits but also with many challenges. All of our supplies that we have created and saved throughout the years were no longer useful to us. With your donation I was able to create many new and exciting centers and activities for my students. I was able to print games in color and laminate them so that they will last for years to come. This will not only benefit my current class but it will also be useful to my classes in the future.

My students love the new games that were created! They have helped them to practice skills that we have learned in the classroom in a fun engaging way! They love using the Play-Doh to build shapes as well as practice many other math and ELA concepts. We are so very grateful for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Patch

  • Ladies and Gentlemen, Please Choose Your Seat!

    Funded Sep 13, 2022

Thank you again for your very generous donation! The flexible seating has been such a great addition to my classroom. Your donation has allowed me to replace almost all of the standard chairs at our learning center tables.

My students are now able to choose to sit at wobble chairs, ball chairs, stools and beanbags. This has made such a huge impact on their learning. It has also allowed me to help the students that have a difficult time sitting.

When the materials first arrived it felt like Christmas in my classroom! We were all so excited to see what was in the boxes and to set up the classroom. I am excited for you to see how we have have put these amazing materials to use.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Patch
