  • Reluctant Readers Find Joy in Dystopian Despair!

    Thank you for helping me reach my fundraising goal and giving me the ability to offer a wide variety of books to my students for my Dystopian Reading unit. Students enjoyed a book tasing, where they got to choose from a variety of books in this genre that were also on their reading level. Since I have students reading on many different levels in my classroom, offering students a choice of 5 to 6 books means having a lot of options in my library. The funding that you so generously shared has allowed me to do this. Choice gives readers, especially reluctant readers, some control over what they are reading and, to a limited degree, control over what they are learning. My ultimate goal is that they will springboard this autonomy into life-long learning and joyful reading.”
