Solar Printing Blast Off!
Funded Aug 24, 2022On behalf of my excited 5th & 6th graders I'm happy to share how your generosity has impacted their creative journey by way of this project. The cyanotype process was definitely something none of the students had ever heard about, so when I should them examples they were really intrigued. We used plant parts, string, and also photo transparencies. Arranging them and then exposing them to UV and processing in water the blue images came to life! One student even added embroidery details. We still are figuring out what the end piece will be, but the experience has been so worth it for my kids! Thank you for your part in making it a successful project.”

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Funder and 7 other donors.Art Papers to the Rescue!
Funded Sep 20, 2022Thank you for supporting my students with your funding to buy good quality drawing papers and construction paper. What I found in the classroom was a lot of copy paper and faded construction papers. With your generosity we were able to increase our stock which made a world of difference in the quality of their work.
Whether they used crayons, markers, or paint the paper held up to their process. Our school has enjoyed the display of all the different work made using this paper!
Thank you all again for helping our students!

Pinch & Roll Clay Bird Sculptures
Funded Aug 30, 2022When my students saw the materials laid out they asked....what is this? None of them had ever worked with clay, so this project was made even more special. Within the one 1 hour class they were able follow directions to construct their clay birds successfully. The students used pinch, roll, and slab techniques to create their textured birds! To my delight, they were so engaged and worked so hard! No one complained about their hands being covered with clay either! One student gleefully expressed. "This is the best day ever!" That made my heart explode! After bisque firing, the students selected and glazed their birds. The grand finale afterwards was to add pipe cleaners for legs and hangers. The students are so proud of their work and the school was able to view them before they took them home. Thank you to all the donors who helped make this happen!

Kinder Paint Life!
Funded Oct 15, 2022The gift of the Paint Stix has made a huge impact with my kinders. For most, this is their first time in school and experiencing formal art instruction. We have class each week and I try to make sure they experience different processes and tools each time. Their fine motor skills are still developing and the ease of using these paint stix to paint is a game changer, for them and me!! They were engaged and happily created!
Thank you for giving these young children the ability to experience painting!”
