  • Hands on in Preschool!

    Thanks again for your generosity in donating hands-on learning materials. I have many kinesthetic learners who learn best with hands-on learning and movement. The play-doh stampers are a big hit in providing sensory feedback while supporting learning for phonological and phonemic awareness.

    The hands-on activities are so versatile and used to teach sounds, letter names, rhyming, word associations, etc. They have also been used to expand language for my students who were speaking in 1-2 word phrases and now speaking in 3-5+ sentences.”

  • Imaginative Play in Preschool!

    My students were ecstatic to try the new imaginative play resources. In fact, I needed to find a special home for them so that they wouldn't be too distracted during other activities haha. But they are SO motivated by the different pretend buildings and we use them to work on language concepts such as labeling, verbs, and prepositions, as well as phonological awareness and phonemic awareness skills.

    As seen in the accompanying pictures, students are able to make their own choices and check their understanding by driving their toy cars into designated garages labeled with key concepts like "short sounds" and "long sounds."

    Imaginative play is important to see if these skills are generalizing across settings. Thank you for making it easier to support my students with their speech and language goals!”
