As a veteran teacher, I know the impact that dictionaries have on student learning. It aids in mastering the alphabetic principle and phonemic awareness. I received a few resources from my campus, but I knew I needed more. I turned to DonorsChoose!

My students learned how to apply dictionary skills that they will continue to use for years to come. They learned that in the writing process one step they need to do is editing. A part of editing is checking and correcting spelling. Using a dictionary to find word they want to use and/or correct words they misspelled was a great aid in writing. They were grateful and I was thrilled we had it!”
