  • Meaningful Visual Storytelling

    Thank you for giving this amazing opportunity to my students through your contribution. Since students did not have to use my phone to record video for storytelling or building classroom/school community they were able to create some amazing videos. To build confidence in themselves in caring for technology and becoming familiar with the recording they made positive affirmation videos for other classes.

    Students recorded each other giving compliments to preschool, kindergarten, and first grade classes. The videos were then edited by them. Students explored the ways of adding text, filters, and editing their video. The classes were really surprised when they saw that students in the school knew their name and were saying nice things to them. My class took it a step further and made a surprise video for a student who was leaving our class.

    One of my students who is developing their social skills with his peers really took off in editing videos. He was able to shine when his peers watched the final product after he edited and made all the final touches. It was really nice to be able to provide a creative space for him to sharpen his creative skills and to display in the class and to his mom.
