  • PBL for Special Students

    Thank you so much for your donations. So far we have only been able to do one of the project provided, but the students thoroughly enjoyed doing the Giantville and Tinnyville activity. They enjoyed being able to use their knowledge of scientific notation in a more practice way.

    As we come to the end of the year, I am excited to use other projects to help prepare my students for real world experiences. I will be using the Interest Investigation to help my students learn about money math as some of them prepare for summer jobs.

    Ghostblasters is going to be used to help some of my younger students who have goals with graphing.

    There are just so many amazing projects that are available and I am very excited to be able to use them with my students for the rest of this year and in the future.”

    Thank you so much for the materials. The students love using the small whiteboards to show each other their work. They draw pictures and write messages during brain breaks. The markers have been especially useful in making sure all students are able to participate as some students have issues with grasp and need the larger markers while the smaller markers help the students with handwriting struggles.

    The large whiteboard has made it possible for me to teach. Before it arrived, I could only use the smartboard to teach. Having a whiteboard has allowed me to do more as I am able to write the problems on the board and solve it with the students.

    The favorite item from this project is the table. It is close to the floor which the kids love because they can sit on the floor while they work. Being able to work together at the small table is a highlight of their class. They have their own sections where they can store their work and a space of their own.

    All of these items have made collaboration so much more accessible in the classroom and the students are so grateful for everything.”
