Popular Student Reads
Funded Mar 22, 2023My students cannot put the "Who Would Win" series down! I love seeing their excited faces learning about animals they like and making hypothesis of who would win while reading informational text. The National Geographics also became popular reference books for our writing block as well as mentor texts. I cannot thank you enough for not only the monetary difference you have made for my classroom but also the joy you have brought to my students with the new reads for our classroom. It is now a brand new school year and these books continue to be popular reads.”

Funded Mar 30, 2023Thank you for your support in supporting myself and my students. My students made great leaps at the end of the year using the decodable readers from this project. They felt successful and they started to read for joy. Music to my ears! I cannot wait to use them sooner this school year with my new group of kids and see them soar throughout the school year. With the decodables I was able to teach specific reading strategies that students needed and have started to assess my current students reading skills to see where they need support to be able to teach with the decodables. Thank you again for instilling the love of reading to my students and helping them feel successful at it.”

Funded Jan 26, 2023I want to thank you for your kind donation. My students LOVED the read alouds in this project. We were able to have thoughtful and engaging conversations and found the fun in listening to books being read to them. The magnetic letters helped my beginning readers practice their letters name and sounds and start creating CVC words. It was amazing seeing them feel successful and empowered to keep growing as readers. Finally, the Developing Decoders helped my kiddos who needed more targeted practice with specific reading strategies. I was able to see a student go from reading level D to K in just one school year. That is AMAZING! This could not have been possible without the materials funded with your generosity for my classroom. I am so excited to continue utilizing them to help more students in this upcoming school year.”

Love For Reading
Funded Jan 14, 2023My students have absolutely been enjoying our new books in our classroom library. They have also been able to check them out to read at home as the schools library ones are not always available. My Spanish speaking students have been so appreciative that our classroom library now has Spanish books options for them to read. Hoping in the near future I can grow it bigger as it is still not enough options. I love seeing my students grow their love for reading with books they are excited to read and this has been possible because of kind people like you who support educators and students.”

Regulating Emotions
Funded Dec 30, 2022My students have been so happy having a colored printer in the classroom. Students are excited to write and having me print out pictures for their creations. It has also been super handy for myself in printing out important papers that need to be sent home with students. The calming corner has become a popular place in the classroom as well. The new additions from this project has helped that part of the classroom be a safe space to regulate emotions and students are using it appropriately and considerately when they see others in need of it. Your kind donation has made this all possible and I can't thank you enough because it has made such a positive impact on classroom culture.”

Funded Oct 31, 2022Your donation toward this project has made such an impact on students with extrinsic motivation. I have seen increase of engagement and work being done because they are excited about rewards. Behaviors have also decreased because they know to be able to be rewarded, when expectations are being met. My goal is to slowly phase out rewards to where students are doing work independently without expecting a reward in return. But so far, I can see a shift thanks to your kind donation. I am forever grateful.”

Funded Aug 31, 2022All of my students have been enjoying all the new series of books we have been kindly donated with your support and contribution. The books are reaching all of my reading levels which is amazing. Even students who dislike reading due to being hard for them are excited to pick up Gerald and Piggy books to read. It is so wonderful to see! Instilling love for reading can take them so many places and thanks to you this is possible. They are now more excited about reading and have been asking for other series which I hope to get in the near future. Also, the flexible seating wobble chairs have made such a difference in students who are fidgety. I'm slowly seeing them more focused and engaged. Once again, thank you for making this possible and supporting educators and students. It is not an easy job but people who believe in education like yourself give me glimpses of hope, strength and joy.”
