Give Blind Students A Safe Space to Calm Down
Funded Aug 7, 2024Thanks to your generous contributions, our classroom has transformed into a vibrant learning environment! The new resources have significantly enriched our students' educational experience, allowing them to engage more deeply with the material.
A calming corner area is incredibly beneficial for my blind students, to help them learn to self-regulate and manage big emotions. It will provide them with a dedicated space to relax and regroup when needed, helping them manage their emotions and reduce anxiety. The fluffy carpet materials, soft textures, and soothing sounds to create a comforting environment for my students.
The calming area also allowed me to Involve my students in maintaining the calming corner and by practicing daily living skills like vacuuming, taking inventory of the educational toys, sensory ball not only keeps the space tidy but also teaches them responsibility and care for their environment.”

Funded Jul 26, 2024I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous contribution of the light table and manipulatives for my visually impaired and multiple need students. Since introducing this wonderful resource in our classroom, I have been able to see more engaging connection to my students learning. The illuminated surface allows them to explore textures and shapes in a way that truly brings their education to life. It's incredible to see their faces light up with excitement as they manipulate objects, discovering new dimensions of their environment that they might not have experienced otherwise.
Beyond enhancing their individual learning, the light table has fostered a sense of community among my students. It has become a gathering point for collaboration, where low vision students come together for group and independent activities in ELA, Math, and Science. This light table created an inclusive atmosphere not only strengthens their social skills but also cultivates empathy and understanding among classmates. Your support has made a significant impact on their educational journey, and I am deeply thankful for your commitment to making our classroom a more inclusive and enriching space. Thank you for believing in the potential of all our students!”
