  • MPHS Health/Driver ED Dept. Computer Project

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

Your donation to our "MPHS Health/Driver ED Dept. Computer Project" has drastically motivated our students. On behalf the members of the Morgan Park High School PE/Health/Driver Education Department thank you so much for upgrading our technology once again educating and preparing our students for this technological world we live in has become so much easier with our our department Chromebooks and storage cart .

The teachers in my department have created more developed lessons with technology infused into them, which is part of our curriculum. We are able to incorporate the Internet, they created a presentation on Google Slides. This allows the students to have immediate feedback and be interactive. We also Nearpod for Health lesson reinforcement. Students now do not have to miss out on lessons if they do not own a personal Chromebook or forgot the school provided one.

There are a multitude of ways we use our Chromebooks in our classroom. Technology is such an engaging way to instruct and reinforce skills. Students thrive with this type of environment. It is with heartfelt appreciation I write this. You are a vital part in bringing this technology to our lives. Thank you for your support."”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Berger

I am requesting a smart television and tv stand for the MPHS PE/Health and Driver Education Department. Every student of our nearly 1,100 passes through our department at some point. We teach two current Chicago Public Schools graduation requirements in Freshman Health and Driver Education. Our current technology consists of a VCR, a very old television, and a broken LCD projector. This infusion of technology would be used in all of the classes of our department to create lessons that engage students and meet the needs that both students, parents, and the medical community have been vocal about. Our students are living in a 20th century technological world while the 21st century flies by on a superhighway. Part of the solution to this problem involves being able to interact digitally while staying physically active. The problem our department faces is the inability to make videos and create activities with the current technology setup. Our department goal is to be able to take incorporate all kinds of technology into our lessons and allow our students to be more creative in what they produce in response to those more interactive lessons.
