  • If You Give a Fifth Grader a Cookie...

    Funded Aug 17, 2022

You have not seen someone truly happy until you have seen a fifth grader's face when you tell them that you have snacks for them. School can be a long day and often it can get monotonous-- especially when you are hungry. The introduction of a snack time to the day has not only improved classroom moral but also behavior issues.

Knowing that a brief break and snack time is coming is a great motivator for students to continue doing their best. Thank you to everyone who donated and made this project possible. It has made such an impact both on my students and me as a teacher being able to provide them with food.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Wibel

  • Summer Camp All Year Long

    Funded Aug 17, 2022

Nearly every morning I get to start out by saying "come on up and get a log or a leaf to sit on." Students will then come over to our "campfire" area to sit down and either have a morning meeting or listen to a read aloud.

My students were so excited when they saw the materials that were delivered. A benefit that I had not anticipated of the flexible seating logs and leaves is that they can double as "desks" and "chairs" when students need to move up and get closer to the white board during lessons/notes. Instead of just sitting on the floor, my students had the creativity to use our "campfire" seating as impromptu desks for their notebooks. I am so thankful that they have gotten to use these additional resources to add a little bit of nature and fun to the classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Wibel

  • Flexible Seating for Fifth Grade

    Funded Aug 17, 2022

My students have thoroughly enjoyed getting to use flexible seating options. The greater diversity of seating (and standing options) has done wonders in catering to students' specific needs. They were so, so excited when they saw everything.

We just chose our seating options for fourth quarter (which is off to a wonderful start by the way). As my students prepare for their last eight weeks in elementary school I am so grateful that thanks to the generosity of donors, when they go on to middle school, high-school, and beyond they will be able to reflect fondly on their time in elementary school. They will remember fifth grade as a classroom they enjoyed being in and were comfortable with. Every day multiple students ask me to move to a different area and use a different flexible seating option. They enjoy them all so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Wibel
