  • Fine Art Friday: Creating Artists

    Your donations to Fine Art Friday have made a tremendous impact in my classroom this year. The day that I showed my students all of our art materials, they quite literally screamed, they were so excited! Fine Art Friday is mine, and my students favorite part of the week.

    So far this year, we have learned about color theory, Impressionism, Jackson Pollock, and Vincent Van Gogh. We have worked with water color, acrylic paint, and oil pastel. I think my favorite part has been the conversation that has come from discussing art. Students have learned how to engage in meaningful conversation, respect the opinion of others, and be open to new perspectives. My students have found so much joy in learning through art and I have found so much joy in teaching art.

    I'm looking forward to the rest of the year and the art that is yet to come. It wouldn't have been possible without you.”
