  • STEM/Technology Activities for K-1 Technology Beginners

    Funded Oct 18, 2023

STEM toys are an expensive but necessary part of my classroom. I have approximately 525 students, some of which are new to school, or English language learners, or have special needs. Using special STEM toys to communicate STEM ideas to all is crucial.

The magnetic blocks are a huge favorite. Though my intention was to use them with K-1, my older students beg for time with them on "centers" days. They love to build houses and dogs and all of the things in the brochure. The road/puzzle builder is also something that I intended to use with my younger students, but is also loved by 3rd and 4th graders.

Thank you so much for your generosity. I would not be able to afford these without your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stefano

  • STEM Activities for K-1 Technology Beginners

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

My youngest students absolutely love STEM manipulatives, especially magnetic blocks. When I give them a challenge, they work so hard to complete it. They are so proud of their creations and can't wait to show them off! Thank you so much for giving my students the means for better spatial awareness, construction, and problem solving.”

  • Students Need Mice

    Funded Oct 18, 2023

Students are thrilled to use mice for their coding activities. It seems hard to believe, but most students have never used this technology before (because tablets and phones) and immediately noticed the difference between using a mouse and using the touchpad on their laptops.

The students are grateful for your kind, generous donation. They are careful with the mice because they are shared with all of my classes. I want to make them last :).

Without you, I would not be able to furnish this mainstream technology to students who may not be exposed to a device like a mouse. It also occurs to me that not much later in life they may be called on to use a mouse and may be embarrassed if they have no idea how to use it. So thank you, from my heart.”

  • STEM Teacher-on-a-Cart Needs Storage

    Funded Oct 23, 2023

Basic furniture items such as shelving and storage are luxuries in our school district. Often, we go without. Your donation ensures our supplies are kept clean and ready for our students. Not only that, it takes less time to find things.

Thank you so much! Your kindness and generosity means more than I can express.”

  • The Gift of Music

    Funded Sep 11, 2022

We are an inner-city school that needs to scrabble for equipment and supplies. Your donation of rhythm scarves, xylophone mallets, and the rhythm sticks were critical to the success of our class. The speaker was used all day, every day, because the smartboard was broken and didn't have audio.

The students loved making up their own rhythm with the sticks, and younger students really enjoyed dancing around with the scarves. We had no xylophone mallets, so those were also needed and used often.

    Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stefano

  • Music Curriculum for Happy and Curious Students

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Our children absolutely loved the curriculum. From dancing with scarves to learning rhythm and symmetry, your impact was huge.

In an inner-city classroom, you are often teaching students who have never been exposed to all kinds of music and movement. My older students learned the origins of jazz, which led to learning the origins of rock. This amazed them, as most had never heard of the old jazz masters and many had never even heard of Elvis Presley.

Thank you so much for your donation!
