Culinary Cougars
Funded Dec 1, 2023On behalf of my students and myself, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your generous donation to our culinary project at FDR High School. Your support has made an immediate and profound impact, and we are incredibly grateful for your kindness.
When my students saw the new culinary resources for the first time, their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity. They eagerly unpacked the supplies, already brainstorming all the delicious dishes they could create. Some students who had never held professional kitchen tools before were amazed, and others, who dream of culinary careers, saw this as a step closer to their goals.
With these new resources, we will be able to expand our hands-on learning experiences. Students will practice essential cooking techniques, experiment with new recipes, and even explore cultural cuisines that they may not have had the opportunity to try before. These tools also allow us to work on more advanced skills, such as baking, knife skills, and meal presentation. Beyond cooking, my students are learning teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence skills that will serve them well in life.
At FDR High School, our culinary program is more than just a cooking class; it's a space where students can bond, share stories, and develop life skills in a supportive environment. Many of my students have expressed how much this program means to them, and with your donation, you have helped us continue creating these meaningful experiences.
Thank you once again for believing in our mission and for making a difference in our students' lives. We look forward to sharing updates on our culinary journey with you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Zuckerberg

Funded Sep 26, 2024My students and I are using the new resources to bring recipes to life! The students and I have been building memories together by learning all the different aspects of the kitchen and getting creative with building recipes. All of my students from different environments come together to create bonds through food. We have also created a safe space for students to understand and learn the different nutrients all the food brings, and what they can do to cook for their families at home as well as for themselves for after high school.”
