  • Sonidos Divertidos! (Fun Sounds)

    Funded Aug 13, 2023

I am so grateful for these materials. They will be used during center time and whole class instruction to teach letter sounds in Spanish! Having the right tools to teach in a dual-immersion is so crucial for the success of my students! Gracias anonymous donor, tu eres muy amable.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barrera

  • Healthy Snacks Will Lead to Healthy Engaged Brains

    Funded Oct 5, 2022

My students and I are so grateful that we had healthy snacks available for several months provided by donor's choose. My students are active and growing students who have long days; These snacks allowed them to be more present in class because their basic needs were met. Some of my students also stay at school from 8am to 6pm and having an extra snack always provide extra fuel for those students. I want my students to feel that their classroom is a second home where they can turn to for anything they need. I am providing anything I can with whatever resources I can get my hands on, to make my students happy growing individuals.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barrera

  • Non-fiction Books to Spark Curiosity

    Funded Aug 15, 2022

We are now using our donate nonfiction books daily due to our nonfiction unit. Students are learning about the animal that interests them. It is so important for students to have choice in their learning and an availability of different books is so crucial. My students are learning about the elements of nonfiction books such as the glossary, the table of contents, and index. Getting familiar with nonfiction books in the primary grades is so important in my students academic journey. Again, these titles have made a big difference in my classroom.”

  • Creating an Inclusive Classroom Environment With Hands-On Learning!

    Funded Aug 8, 2022

Your donations have made my classroom a more inclusive and welcoming space for my bilingual first graders. The wobble stools are being used on a daily basis and help those students that have lots of energy to move throughout the day. The number chart is in the front of the classroom and is a resource for my students when we do a math lesson or during math centers. I always see one or two walk up to it and try to identify a certain number. The linking cubes are amazing hands-on math tools that we will use throughout the entire year. The giant pocket chart is behind my guided reading table so students can see what we are focusing on during a small group.

My students and I are so grateful to have these added resources in the classroom that are only here because of the kindness of your donations. Know that these items are put to use on a weekly basis and are powerful items for learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Barrera
