  • Targeting Group Learning

    Thank you again for providing my classroom with a much needed resource. The U-shaped table allows a small group of students and a teacher to interact in a focused way. During math students who need extra help understanding the material go to the back table with my TA Ms Hodges, to have the material slowed down and chunked into a smaller task. The kiddos really love the individualized attention, and feel a sense of success from solving the problems.

    Students also enjoy going to the "back table" (as we refer to it, because it is in the back of our room) to confer on their writing. We just finished descriptive writing pieces on modern day predator animals. The table was a space for students to get individualized attention and perfect their writing pieces.

    The students have loved the table since day one. They were thrilled to have more places to sit and that has grown into an appreciation of having a place to reflect or seek help when confused. The table is integral to our classroom, whether it is a special place to have lunch with friends, or somewhere for more intensive learning to occur its significance in our classroom each day cannot be denied. So, thank you!”
