Gardening Inside
Funded Oct 11, 2023The potting soil provided for my classroom made it possible for us to grow more plants! My Gardening class appreciates the support. It's enough soil that years to come we will have plenty for students to use. At winter break the classes switched and I was able to send students home with their own carrots and lettuce started from class. Now my new round of students are figuring out what plants they are interested in. We will begin the planting process in the coming weeks.
Students were of course excited to see the soil especially once their seedlings were ready to transplant. Not only is the soil a key part of successful gardening but the coconut fiber provides an interesting opportunity to see how water impacts the volume of the substance. As we continue to grow plants the soil will be used for more students projects!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community & an Anonymous Partner and 2 other donors.Classroom Staples
Funded Sep 12, 2022My colorful duct tape has helped my organization and greatly helps students find their notebooks faster. My laminator helps create lasting cards to use in activities preparing the classroom to last for years to come.
I appreciate all the donations to help keep my classroom moving forward! My students and I are able to accomplish more. Together we have built a strong learning community (with your help!)
I will continue to use the supplies for years to come and cherish your desire to support me as a teacher.”

Notebooks for Science
Funded Sep 5, 2022My students have been able to take consistent notes in class because of this donation. Student struggle to keep track of notebooks on their own, having a class set that remains in class makes it much easier for all of us. So this donation made it possible for me to provide notebooks that stay with the classroom so students may keep their work in class.
We use notebooks almost everyday to do class activities and track our learning. We are currently learning about cells, enzymes and chemical reactions. Students are referring back to notebooks in the return from winter break and reviewing past ideas. Our notebooks are maintaining the continuity of class.”
