COVID Conscious

Funded Nov 26, 2022

Throughout the school year, students complete hands-on projects and use a variety of materials and equipment to produce a final product. The students were really thankful to see the supplies that you donated. Our Bridge Building Project was a complete success thanks to your donations! During the Bridge Building project, students learn the different types of bridges, how engineers build them, and research engineering careers related to bridge building. Their challenge is to successfully build a bridge using specific information provided to them such as the Problem Context and Design Challenge. Using balsawood, hot glue guns, scissors, and a ruler, students build their bridge by following step-by-step assembly instructions.

The hot glue guns and scissors are shared by multiple student groups during the project. The Clorox disinfectant spray, and Lysol wipes were used to disinfect this equipment and the workstation module where students complete the building of the bridge. The paper towels were used to clean up occasional spills during projects. The Kleenex tissues and Purell Hand Sanitizer are truly lifesavers in helping to mitigate the spread of germs.

Honestly, there are no words that can capture the heartfelt thanks from my students and myself for your kind and generous donations! The impact of these donations on my classroom has given students a high level of confidence in working cooperatively with their classmates. Thank you again for all that you do to support our students in their academic endeavors. God bless you all!”

With gratitude,

Mr. Wilson
