  • Please Help Update Our Materials Library!

    Funded Oct 16, 2024

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each of you for your generous contribution to my Donors Choose project. Thanks to your support, I was able to replace the outdated materials in my speech materials library with new, high-quality resources that will have a direct and positive impact on my students' learning and progress.

Your thoughtful donations are not just helping me update tools; they are giving my students access to resources that will engage them in meaningful ways, help them overcome challenges, and give them the confidence to express themselves. As a result of your kindness, I'm now better equipped to meet the diverse needs of my students and support their growth in speech and language development.

I am truly grateful for your commitment to making a difference in the lives of students like mine. Your belief in the power of education means the world to me and my students.

Thank you once again for your generosity, and know that your support is truly making a lasting impact.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McCummings

  • Extended View

    Funded Dec 1, 2023

Thank you so very much for the equipment to help declutter my small space where I serve my students. The swivel stand has allowed me to quickly be able to share my screen with others. The extended screen has been so helpful in allowing me to share my screen with students sitting close to me and improved my task completion and organization as related to administrative tasks.

Overall, this donation has improved how I show up for my students and handle my administrative responsibilities.

I thank you so, very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McCummings

  • Interactive Experience with Speech and Language

    Funded Nov 6, 2023

Thank you so much for contributing to my speech therapy supply update. My students are so eager to work with me and grow and I desperately wanted to update the supplies I have to work with them. They have really enjoyed updated games and interactive materials that give them multisensory feedback. I'm so proud of their growth this year and I'm grateful you saw fit to help.

The students have flourished with their phonemic awareness skills as they continue to grow their reading skills. The HotDots is a fun way to bridge the gap from their reading instruction in class to what is done in speech therapy. And of course, they enjoy games to make therapy sessions enjoyable.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McCummings

  • Eco-Friendly Speech Therapy

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

I want to express my appreciation for the donation of the portable pocket projector and screens. My students were all very impressed and excited when I presented the donation to them. There has been a great decrease on the use of papers in my therapy sessions and I now only really print for my student's homework. This has an immediate impact on clutter in my rooms but in the long-term, also contributes to preserving our environment.

In speech therapy, my students are working on a variety of skills. Because they are receiving speech services, each student has an identified deficient that impacts their educational experience in a negative way. While most student have different goals and objectives, what they all have in common is that they benefit from visuals. In therapy, we use a variety of graphic organizers, visual organizers, and when possible, video clips, and other media. Having the ability to project from my laptop has made speech therapy more dynamic and relevant in that I can share current events in real time so that the students can make strong connections to real-world events and targeted communication skills.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McCummings
