Wheeled Lectern/ Podium for 8th Grade History Class

First off, I want to thank you again for this amazing gift. My students and I are very much grateful for the podium. I wish you could have seen their reactions when they saw the podium. One student even told me how much it was going to improve their confidence when presenting. In the fall semester, students presented twice and engaged in a classroom simulation without having a podium. I knew they needed something to present from and place their notes on, so obtaining this podium has been a game changer in the classroom. So far this semester, students have presented twice and engaged in another simulation all while using the podium!

Students recently presented on a landmark Supreme Court case they had to research and create a Google slides presentation for. They were able to use the podium to place their notes on when presenting to the class. I advise students to work on their public speaking skills by making eye contact with the audience, but if they need to, they can look at their screens/ notes as well. The podium has made this easier for students to accomplish. We also held a mock debate/ simulation in which we simulated the Constitutional Convention and I had a student playing "Roger Sherman" use the podium to present their "Great Compromise!"

I plan on continuing to use the podium not only for my own lessons but for students as well. I want to continue to develop their public speaking/ communication skills, so I plan on continuing to develop projects for them that does just that. Once again, thank yo so much for this gift.
