Final Supplies Needed
Funded Aug 9, 2022Thank you for funding the final items I needed to start the school year off on the right foot. My students were so excited as the materials began to arrive to our classroom. I think their favorite item from this project is the skin tone crayons. They were so happy to realize that they could draw themselves and their friends and family using colors that accurately reflected what they look like. Their drawings are more detailed as a result of these different colors.
The pocket chart is a huge hit as one of our daily centers. Students go to it to practice different math and literacy skills, which I change out frequently. In the photo included, students are practicing sorting shapes. We have used the pocket chart to sight word match, letter match, letter alphabetize, word build, sentence build, and so much more!
The Post-It pad is used daily, and if you enter my classroom you will see the sticky pad sheets all over the walls. In the picture included, we created a poster of "-at" words, and the students practice blending and reading these words during center time. These posters also are used as a reference for the students when writing and a way they can easily check their spelling.
My students and I are so incredibly grateful for your contributions to our classroom and for making our learning easy and fun. Thank you for your generosity!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Pina
This classroom project was brought to life by Bill Gates and 2 other donors.Kinder Teacher in Need of Learning Center Supplies
Funded Jul 28, 2022The past few months have been a whirlwind of fun in kindergarten! My students were so excited to receive the materials from your donation. They helped me unpack and get everything organized in our classroom and were eager to dive in and explore the items.
We started out using the Dot Art Painters as we learned the letters of the alphabet, and you can see the students dotting the letters in the photos I submitted. The students love using these, and we even incorporate them in our sight word search activities. I used the TPT giftcard to purchase several center activities to print out. Some examples of these items are also included in the photos.
As the students learned multiple letters of the alphabet, we began using the "building words" materials. They love pulling these items out and practicing blending to read words. They are building confidence in their literacy skills as a result of having these items to practice with daily.
The "It's A Snap Addition" center is a class favorite! Not only are students practicing fine motor skills by snapping the pegs in and out of place, but they are also improving their number recognition and addition skills when working at this center. This center has been an easy way for my students to grasp number and addition concepts with no addtional work on my part.
This year has been such a success already thanks to you and your willingness to donate to my project. My students and I are so blessed to have these materials to learn with every day. I am forever grateful for your contributions to our future leaders of America!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Pina
