This is Amazing to have snacks available for students so they can continue to focus on work! These snacks should last me through the end of the school year, which is great because I won't have hungry students! Many of our students come from poverty and food insecurity. This makes such a difference.
Having the timers allows me to have variety and not always use an embedded timer in a slide show. I can put a visual timer up on the wall or under the doc Cam for students to see.
When students can see how much time they have to complete a task it allows them to learn to pace themselves.”
By providing dry erase markers and dry erase erasers for my math students, you have supported my students ability to not only work on math but also work on collaboration. These will provide the opportunity for my students to continue to work on math in small groups. Whenever I pull out new supplies, students are happy that someone has been so generous and it's always like a holiday to get fresh new things. Dry erase markers eventually dry out and we go through many each year. I do try to make erasers last but they can only be hot glued back together so many times. Having new supplies also makes my life easier because I don't have to try to repair the old ones as many times. Thank you!”
Having snacks for students makes a huge difference in their ability to stay focused. It is especially helpful to have healthy snacks and have snacks for students who have the last lunch! Thank you for helping to provide these snacks. Beef sticks, beef jerky, and fruit/dried fruit are the most requested snack.
Keeping students focused in math allows them to learn more because they are able to think about math rather than their hunger. Your donation is so important. With 80 students, we use a lot of snacks each day. Keeping them fed would be impossible on my budget alone. I appreciate your donation.”

Students are always excited when anything comes from Donors Choose but students really enjoy working collaboratively on math at whiteboards and to get a new whiteboard is a treat! The students faces lit up when this was delivered. I haven't had a chance, yet to set it up, but will get it up this week and I am sure the excitement will continue when students return next week after Thanksgiving break. This glass whiteboard should last many years (probably as long as I teach) and will replace an older one. This will allow students to work in a group of 2-3 to talk about and work out math problems together.”

My students, especially the ones who have last lunch, benefit from your snack donation. They were very excited when the snacks came and especially excited for the pretzels.
These snacks will allow us to have something to keep students focused on math until the end of class instead of focusing on hunger. It is also nice to have a variety of things to offer and helps when some students have allergies.
We are currently working on operations with positive and negative rational numbers and sometimes that work requires extra focus. Thank you so much for your donation.”

Students were very excited when I put the wiggle seats out for them. It really helped them focus, yesterday when they were able to use them while working. The squeeze balls and bubble pens, I'm going to use later in the year. I did show them to the students and they were super excited about using them.
I really appreciate your donation because it allows these students to focus better. As a result, that allows me to teach instead of dealing with behavior.
Our 82 minute math classes are very long for students to sit through. Of course, we also take movement breaks, and my students work at whiteboards while standing.”
Thank you so much for donating pencils for our classroom! This will impact students who do not have pencils or cannot afford pencils. These larger pencils will hold up and last the entire year. Having plenty of pencils, makes it easier for kids to focus on work instead of thinking about not having a pencil.
We have many students in our building that come without supplies at all. Pencils are the most basic supply that are used in all classes. When a student comes without a pencil, it really affects their ability to get work done. The skinny pencils are cheaper and easily obtained for teachers, but students constantly break them. That means I have to replace the more often. These larger pencils are wonderful because it makes my life easier and the students can get work done without having to always ask for a pencil.”

The donations to headphones storage have made my life so much easier this year! I was able to store the headphones in the hanging bags and on the curtain rods with a color coding system. it makes it really easy for them to stay organized and allows students to know which headphones are theirs. When they return them to the bags into the hangers, they are organized for the next class. Thank you for your donation and your generosity! The headphones storage is making my class run very smoothly.”

My students started using these whiteboards yesterday. They were so excited because it can move and roll around, and it still magnetic. The whiteboard erases well, which is important when we're doing a lot of math work. Because it's glass, it's really durable and it's going to hold up for many years.
Students are using it for what we call card club and they're working out real life based math problems in a small group together. It's a very social type of math and thinking is exposed so everyone can see it.”

My students really appreciate all of the snacks that have been purchased through Donor's Choose!
Having a snack really allows them to focus in class and can be a motivator to stay awake and work. When students are hungry, It's very hard to focus. By having the snacks that you provide, it allows us to pull something out and offer to the students partway through a class to keep them going the rest of the time. Having a variety of snacks allows many different students to have a choice which can be important, especially when some kids have allergies or sensitivities. We appreciate your support!”
