  Today a reader, tomorrow a leader! That is our motto at my school situated in the heart of East Nashville. We believe that students who pour themselves into the world of literature, will have better access to resources and opportunities as they grow.

  In my classroom, students are working to become "millionaires." This means that once they have read a million words, they officially join the millionaires club. Students find pride in this accomplishment and are rewarded with swag and a free trip to the bookstore!

  With these new headphones, students will gain access to books they might not have otherwise enjoyed. As a teacher, that brings me joy knowing that these students are invested in their own progress.

  From readers to leaders! That is our motto at my school situated in the heart of East Nashville. We believe that students who pour themselves into the world of literature, will have better access to resources and opportunities as they grow.

  In my classroom, students are working to become "millionaires." This means that once they have read a million words, they officially join the millionaires club. Students find pride in this accomplishment and are rewarded with swag and a free trip to the bookstore!

  When these new shiny books hit the shelves, students are vying over who gets to read which book first. As a teacher, that brings me joy knowing that these students are invested in their own progress.

  Most of the books that were purchased were for our emerging bilingual students. These students are having to put in extra work to begin reading grade level novels and short stories. The graphic novels have given them pictures to associate with words on the page, which has increased their overall understanding.

  Words cannot express how grateful I am for your donations. Instilling a love for literacy in students is one of my greatest joys and I would not be able to do it without your support. Because of your donation, my 6th graders read over 32,000,000 words over the course of 8 months! They were so excited to have surpassed their goal of 30,000,000 and were appreciative of the amazing books that were donated.
