  • Building Language by Listening to Stories

    Funded Jun 20, 2019

Thank you for helping to foster a love of reading with my kindergarten students! This project provided four personal CD players for be added to our listening center!

By doing this, I am able to add four new stories a week that children are able to listen to independently! That's over 150 stories over the year in addition to what I read to them daily or what they read independently! That is HUGE!

By creating a literacy rich environment, all students have access to stories that they can listen to in English! That is a win- win for all my students. The personal CD players that we received are such a blessing! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wathen

  • Now I Know My ABCs!

    Funded Aug 28, 2018

I would like to take this time to thank you for partnering with me to provide the BEST materials and activities for my students! Children learn best when they are actively engaged in meaningful activities and this project is sure to provide those opportunities!

The Learning Letters Activity Centers set comes with three fun alphabet games that my students BEG to play! How fun is that? We use magnet letters ALL THE TIME to practice name building, thematic words and a fun game called Alphabet Stew!

By providing multiple ways to learn letters and sounds, students are sure to be successful with pre-reading and pre-writing skills as we prepare them for kindergarten. Together we will lay the foundation for a generation of children who love to learn and read!”

  • Storytelling with Puppets

    Funded May 26, 2018

Thank you so much for supporting our project, Storytelling with Puppets!

By using puppets to retell stories such as The Three Little Pigs, students are practicing speaking and listening, retelling a story and working cooperatively with their classmates. They LOVE listening to fairy tales again and again and then retelling the story with puppets at the puppet theater as they share it with their friends.

The Birthday Puppet makes each child feel special on his/her big day! Students love that their picture is added to the puppet's pocket and it is their job to help with the puppet during morning circle and story time!

  • Exploring our Creativity in Pre-K

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you all for taking an interest in my pre-kindergarten class and for investing in them! The excitement on their faces when we opened the box told it all! Each new material created an exciting desire to create in the art center, the construction center and dramatic play area!

Creativity means different things to different children. Watercolor paints, colored tape, wood rings, stencils and colored blocks gave my children additional supplies to boost their creativity!

These early experiences could be forming our next artist, designer, illustrator, architect, teacher, or stay at home mom! No matter what they become, you have played a vital role in their development!”

The comet balls and cone catchers promote gross motor play as children throw, catch and run on the field. The Velcro balls and frog catchers are a favorite. I love that these materials also encourage team work and cooperation!

My pre-kindergarten friends were the most excited about the scooters! When we take them out onto the court areas, their enthusiasm was contagious! These materials are a welcomed addition to our classroom and their gross motor development. In addition, they help foster a love for exercise and healthy choices!
