Second-Grade Phonics
Funded Jan 13, 2023The games donated to our classroom have made learning engaging and memorable for our students. They have been able to reinforce the skills taught in class through working with their peers. They have been able to build their collaboration skills and learn the benefits of friendly competition.
Our students look forward to playing games every week as part of their weekly phonics centers. The students understand the importance of treating the games with respect so everyone has an equal turn to play.
Thank you again for your generosity. You have impacted our students greatly.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Wenzler
Flexible Seating
Funded Jul 16, 2022Our students are loving the flexible seating options they have in the classroom. Our students are able to get comfortable and become more engaged with each lesson. For example, our students are able to use whichever seating they want when they are taking tests. This gives them something to look forward to on more stressful days, and holds them accountable. They know that if they are using flexible seating, they need to be focused and ready to learn.
When our students walked through the door in September, they were surprised to see a classroom with so many options of seats. From the bistro table, to the book nook, the students were excited to try everything out. They have been respectful of the new furniture and overall they do a great job of taking turns.
As the school year moves on, we will continue to use our flexible seating for a variety of lessons across different subjects. From being comfortable during our independent writing lessons about bear habitats, to working in small groups to count by 10s on a number line, our students our excited to come to school each day. Mrs. Ventre and I want to thank everyone for their generous donations.”

Mr. Wenzler
